I am giving away a free autographed copy of my best selling book, The Road Back To Me.
All you have to do, is write a post about how you feel codependent thinking has affected your life.
I will personally choose the post I feel most clearly describes the varied, but innocuous ways in which codependency infiltrates our everyday lives.
You may post your comments publicly, or send them to me directly so that your post remains private.
Namaste...

For many years, I relied on another person to validate me. I chose to remain in an emotionally, and physically, abusive relationship. Needless to say, my life, at this time, was extremely unhealthy. I was stuck in a trap of codependency. To be truthful, I lost sight of who I was outside of this relationship. There was no "ME" any longer. I took on responsibilities, that were not mine to take on. My entire being, was consumed with this person. I became addicted, and "HE" was my drug of choice.
ReplyDeleteAfter many years of insanity, I made a decision to break the vicious cycle. I learned to love myself again. This love did not come over night, I acquired it along the way, on the road back to finding myself.
You cannot love others, if you do not truly love yourself. I do truly love myself today, and have experienced true happiness in who I am....An independent woman.

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your blog post. Your story is so typical of kind and warm hearted codependent women.
Unfortunately codependents are like magnets for the narcissistic members of society, and if we do not learn to envelope our souls with self love, sadly many of us wind up feeling as if our souls are no longer our own.
I truly appreciate your comments, and I am thrilled to my toes that you have made it out of the emotional trap that once consumed your life...
YOU GO GIRL!!!
Please note you are in the running for a copy of my autographed book...
Please also note you are one of the very few who have bravely shared your story with the world, as many have chosen to send me their stories in emails rather than leave blog replies...
Know in your heart--from this recovering codependent and once lost soul--that I honor you...with all that I am...
Namaste dear sister...Namaste :)
You will be hearing from me again by the end of this month (June 2012)
